The Last Blossom
Drama
Summary
Summer 1987. In a quiet seaside town, the younger Akutsu moves into a rundown apartment arranged by his sworn brother, Tsutsumi (Yasumoto). A balsam flower grows in the yard and Akutsu shares the home with Nana (Mitsushima) and her newborn son, Kensuke. From their veranda, the trio watch fireworks and carve out a modest but warm life together. When Akutsu strikes it rich through real estate speculation, wealth quickly pulls him into excess and neglect. Then disaster strikes: desperate for a large sum of money, he joins Tsutsumi in a reckless plan to steal 300 million yen from their own organisation’s safe.
