10 Promises to My Dog

Summary

Fourteen year old Akira (Mayuko Fukuda), an only child, yearns for a companion since her workaholic father and ailing mother have little time to spend with her. She soon finds solace in a Golden Retriever puppy which wanders into her yard. With distinctive white paw markings, Akira names it Socks and her mother allows her to keep the pup on the condition that she makes ‘ten promises’ to the dog. Akira enthusiastically consents and hence begins a friendship filled with love and affection. The two are inseparable, but as Akira starts to grow up, her emotions shift focus and the pair slowly drifts apart. Year by year, their distance grows and Socks is no longer a young, energetic puppy. Is there still time for Akira to redeem herself and fulfil the lifelong promises she made ten years ago?
